Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) Works
Work is taking place between Manchester and Leeds to allow Network Rail to deliver key rail infrastructure improvements as part of Transpennine Route Upgrade.
Network Rail are working around the clock to upgrade track and reconstruct railway bridges, helping deliver a better and more reliable railway.
The line closures mean that TransPennine Express trains will run to amended timetables on dates and routes specified below.
Additionally, work is taking place before the New Year to upgrade infrastructure in and around Leeds station. Customers are advised to check before you travel.

Every Sunday throughout January 2022, as well as Sunday 06 and 13 February 2022, there will be no route between Manchester Victoria and Stalybridge due to Transpennine Route Upgrade work at Manchester Victoria. Services will be diverted to run via Guide Bridge.
Liverpool <> Newcastle
TransPennine Express train services on this line will be diverted to start/terminate at Manchester Piccadilly instead of Liverpool Lime Street.
For travel between Liverpool Lime Street, Lea Green and Newton-le-Willows with TransPennine Express, an additional train service will run between Liverpool Lime Street, Lea Green, Newton-le-Willows, Manchester Oxford Road, Manchester Piccadilly, Gatley and Manchester Airport.

Manchester Airport <> Redcar Central
Services will be diverted to start/terminate at Manchester Piccadilly and will not stop at Manchester Victoria, Manchester Oxford Road, Gatley and Manchester Airport.
For train services to Gatley and Manchester Airport: Change at Manchester Piccadilly.
Manchester Victoria <> Scarborough
Services will start/terminate at Manchester Piccadilly instead of Manchester Victoria and are expected to run on an amended timetable.
Due to engineering works, there will be no services running via Stalybridge from 22:40 to 05:40 between Monday 31 and Thursday 03 February 2022 included.
Train services will finish earlier and/or be diverted via the Calder Valley route with replacement buses in operation between Huddersfield and Manchester Piccadilly for local stops and Huddersfield and Brighouse to connect with diverted services via the Calder Valley route.
2107 Hull to Manchester Piccadilly:
Will not call at Huddersfield, Slaithwaite, Marsden, Greenfield, Mossley and Stalybridge but will call additionally at Brighouse, Manchester Victoria and Manchester Oxford Road.
2134 Scarborough to Manchester Airport:
Will not call at Stalybridge.
2208 Hull to Manchester Piccadilly:
Will not call at Huddersfield, Slaithwaite, Marsden, Greenfield, Mossley, and Stalybridge but will call additionally at Brighouse, Manchester Victoria and Manchester Oxford Road
2230 Manchester Piccadilly to Leeds:
A replacement coach will be provided from Manchester Piccadilly to Huddersfield (estimated journey time: 1 hour and 35 minutes). This service will not stop at Leeds for the duration of the works.
2247 Leeds to Huddersfield
A replacement coach will be provided from Leeds to Huddersfield, also calling at Cottingley, Morley, Batley, Dewsbury, Ravensthorpe, Mirfield and Deighton (estimated journey time: 1 hour and 14 minutes)
2335 Manchester Piccadilly to Huddersfield:
A replacement coach will be provided from Manchester Piccadilly to Huddersfield, also calling at Stalybridge, Mossley, Greenfield, Marsden and Slaithwaite (estimated journey time: 1 hour and 35 minutes).
2337 Leeds to Huddersfield
This service will not run.
